The Ides of March (due on the Ides of Pi)

There are various stations around the classroom: video clips, selections out of  young reader books, selection from primary and secondary source and part of Shakespeare’s play, Julius Caesar, etc.

Read/watch/etc and begin to formulate a plan…

You have three options:
1.     Visual—Create an artistic representation of the Ides.  This could be anything that is not written or spoken, e.g. a picture, sculpture, etc.
2.     Audio/visual—Create a representation of the Ides using performance: music, a rendering of one of the accounts, a staging of Shakespeare’s, etc.
3.     Written—Create a written (poetic or prose) version of the Ides.  This could be factual, fictional…  Or some measure of both.

These may be individual or small groups (no more than 3).

Whichever of these three options you choose, you have until Thursday to execute it.  “It’s not done” or “Can I have until Friday” are not acceptable.  Manage your time and remember that there are two kinds of projects: the perfect kind and the finished kind.  I want the finished kind on Thursday.

This will take the place of the quiz and composition book for the week.

10/10—Wow!
9/10—Good job; you fulfilled the terms of the assignment well.
8/10—Eh, ok.  You fulfilled the terms of the assignment.
7/10—Really?  Okay.
6/10—You did this at the last minute didn’t you?
