Due: 1 June
Do you
remember waaay back at the beginning of last quarter when I passed out the myth
project and said something like, “Oh, don’t worry about that ‘Final Form’ part,
we’ll worry about that later.”
Start
worrying.
So far, you
have written two drafts for each myth and there are three more to go: seven
myths in all. What you will need to do
once all seven are done is to collect them into a form which is indicative of
your culture.
For example,
let’s say that your culture preserves its stories by means of tattoos, ritual
scarring, body modification or piercings (yes, some peoples do this); for your
final “draft” you would want to design body art which “tells” the stories you
have been writing. Yes, you will still
have to collect (and probably re-write) your myths, but you also can express
your creativity and personality.
Some past
examples include:
·
Massive
re-writing into one long narrative centered around one figure
o
e.g.
the book Zeus
·
Series
of poems
o
e.g
the Orphic Hymns
·
Collection
of skateboard designs for each deity (no, really; his culture was dedicated to
skateboard-like vehicles)
·
Children’s
storybook
But it is
what YOU want it to be…
